Britney Spears car troubles again: Trial date set More drama for Britney Spears and her car troubles after being charged a year ago for driving without a California license, a trial date has now been set for Oct. 15. The case has led to speculation Spears is being treated more harshly than others, as it's a minor offence. Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the L.A. City Attorney’s Office, said those facing the same charge as Spears typically settle the case by agreeing to probation and a fine. Britney's problems started on August 6th 2007, when Spears bumped another car in a parking lot as she was being chased by numerous paparazzi. This was at a time when Spears was going through some very public turmoil. Really Britney Spears should be able to sort this before it goes to trial, like most other people do.
